Villanova d’Albenga in the province of Savona is located in the region of Liguria. The small, inland town is located close to the famed Italian Riveria.
Villanova D’Albenga is about 7 kilometres north-west of the seaside town of Albenga. Situated on Italian Riviera, Albenga is known for its many church spires. Major attractions include the Cathedral of St. Michael Archangel, the Baptistery, the Old Bishop’s Palace and the Old City Hall Palace.
Camping, hiking and cycling in the lush mountains and near the coastline are popular activities. Sailing is also possible from Albenga. A popular route is travelling to Isola d’Albenga, an island with a large Herring Gull colony that is part of the Isola Gallinara National Regional Reserve.
About 40 kilometres to the southwest is Savona, the provincial capital and a port town on the Mediterranean coast. Scenic towns located nearby include Alassio and Andora.
