Situated on the shores of the majestic Lake Serre-Ponçon, one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe, Camping Le Grand Large* is located just a few kilometers from the village of Savines-le-Lac, in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes, in a strategic position on the road to Barcelonnette. Its proximity to cities such as Gap and Embrun, and immediate access to beautiful views between water and mountains, make it an ideal destination for exploring the region. This area, known for its sunny climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year, offers an endless variety of activities for nature and sports lovers, both summer and winter. In the surrounding area, è you can indulge in hiking, fishing and water sports, as well as discover a summer program full of cultural events and entertainment.

Accommodation and units
Camping Le Grand Large* offers different housing solutions, designed to meet every need and vacation desire:
Wood chalets: 10 cozy chalets, nestled in a shady area near the beach and ideal for 5 people. Each chalet has a double bedroom, a second bedroom with bunk beds and a single bed, a living room with kitchenette, a covered terrace with garden lounge, private bathroom and separate toilet. The kitchen è fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, stove and TV.
Mobil-home TAOS: 5 luxury units available year-round, with different configurations:

• TAOS for 4 people, also suitable for people with reduced mobility, with two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and accessible bathroom.


• TAOS for 5 people, with one double suite, a second room with bunk beds and a living room with a fully equipped kitchen.


• TAOS for 6 people, with three bedrooms and ample space for groups or large families. All mobile homes include furnished terraces and modern equipment such as microwave, refrigerator and TV.

Camping pitches: 271 spacious pitches, some on the lakefront, suitable for tents, campers, caravans and vans. Each pitch has electrical connections (up to 9 amps), access to three sanitary blocks with hot water and drinking water points. Pitches are accessible year-round.

Services provided by the campground
The campground provides a wide range of services to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay:

• Children's services: a play area equipped with swings, slides and sports fields.


• Barbecue area: dedicated spaces for convivial barbecues with friends and family.


• Toilet and laundry facilities: three sanitary blocks with free hot showers and washing machines for guests.


• Commerce and dining: a mini-market and boulangerie active in summer, as well as two restaurants – the "Happy Day" with a panoramic view of the lake and the "Nemo BBQ & Grill" for evening snacks and pizzas.


• Navigational access: possibility of boat rental, pedalò and other water sports equipment. Mooring buoys and boat launch ramps also available.


• Pet-friendly: animals are welcome, with dedicated spaces and facilities.

Activitiesà and entertainment
During the year, Camping Le Grand Large* and nearby Savines-le-Lac organize events and activities; for all ages. In summer, concerts, fireworks shows and musical trails in the forest enliven the days. The region offers hiking for all levels, biking trails, snowshoeing in winter and fishing. Inside the campground, there are volleyball courts, table tennis and pétanque for moments of leisure. The "Sud Escapades" nautical base, located in the campground, offers boat trips and water sports, while the lake è perfect for relaxation or more dynamic activities.
